Overview

This 2-day course helps you learn Scrum in depth, from theory to practice.
On the day one, we start from the Scrum foundation, including its history, Agile manifesto and how empirical process control applies for complex projects. Then, we go over the Scrum framework in brief. Lack of transparency and how it leads to legacy software is the next topic. We then introduce Definition of Done and its importance for transparency. Gradually, we move to more practical topics about meetings in the Scrum framework,
including their purposes and how to make them effective.
On the day two, in the morning, we talk about Product Owner, Product backlog and
release planning done in the form of continuous backlog refinement. In the afternoon, we shall explore ScrumMaster role and the team role in details, and clarify lots of misconceptions there. Even though Scrum does not prescribe any engineering practices, great teams adopt Agile engineering practices. Thus, we shall give a short introduction about that. Scrum implementation happens in the context of Organization, which is the last topic of the course.

This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn Scrum in depth. It is not only for
Scrum Master, but also for team members, Product Owner, managers and other
stakeholders in the organization.

Lv Yi lives in Hangzhou, China. He is the first Certified Scrum Trainer from China since 2008. As a coach, he gives his best expertise to help more organizations in various industries transform to Agile, and coach teams to improve their delivery, learning and the value of the work.

He has worked in various positions in Telecom industry since graduation in 2000, ranging from Software Developer to Management position such as development manager, project manager and quality manager. From late 2005, he started to get acquainted with Agile software development, in particular, Scrum. First, he introduced Scrum to manage the projects, then, acted as driving force in transforming the whole product organization. He led a department inside that product organization and focused on developing teams and Scrum Masters to create sustainability. It was not an easy journey, but very rewarding one in terms of both improving the business and the people.
